The
CEL-400 Sound Level Meters are an ergonomic, modular and effective
interpretation of the classic integrating instrument. The
instruments are available as either direct read out (CEL-440) or
data logging (CEL-480) versions, in either Type 1 or 2
configurations. Both instruments provide read out and data storage
(CEL-480) of full 1/3 Octave Band Frequency levels, with an
effective dynamic range of 20 to 140 dB(A). Instruments can
display information as either numerical values or frequency graphs
on screen, including specific information on derived acoustic
values.
Power
comes from 4 "AA" size batteries, which give the user up
to 25 hours of continuous operation. Each sound level meter kit
includes the instrument, a calibrator, windscreen and manual in a
hard case. The CEL-480 kit also includes software and a download
cable. All instruments meet the relevant ANSI S1.4 and IEC
standard requirements.

Digital
Impulse Sound Level Meter, Model CEL 254
The CEL-254 Digital Impulse Sound Level Meter is specially designed to
meet the sound survey needs of industrial hygienists and safety
professionals.
The CEL-254 uses a large digital display with full 0.1dB resolution to
guarantee easy, precise reading.
The sound level meter is equipped with both “A” and “C”
frequency weightings to take advantage of the increasing use of hearing
protection Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) which simplifies the selection
of Hearing Protectors.
Just two measurement ranges, both covering a 70dB span, are needed to
achieve a 30dB-135dB(A) total measurement span so that a single range of
65dB-135dB is available for industrial surveys.
The meter complies with both the IEC 651 and ANSI S1.4 1983 in the Type
2 categories by providing both Fast and Slow response times. In
addition, an Impulse response is available for those territories with
extra legislative control over impulsive noise. The Impulse response is
normally used in conjunction with the Maximum Hold function and this
combination is equipped with a rapid reset facility. To optimize
measuring opportunities “maximum hold” is also operational on both
Fast and Slow responses.
Digital Sound Survey Meter, Model CEL 231
The CEL-231 is a simplified version of the CEL-254 maintaining much of
the specification. Fast and Slow time weightings are provided along with
“A” frequency weighting and a measurement range of 30dB(A) to
135dB(A). It will appeal to Safety Engineers and Occupational workers
who require an easy-to-use survey instrument to check whether industrial
noise exposure areas require more detailed investigation.
