Sound Curtains offer maximum noise reduction using a combination of sound absorber and noise barrier materials. Often referred to as Sound Blanket or Noise Jacket, the quilted noise barrier material has proven to control noise generated by blowers, compressors, hydraulic pumps, and many other types of noisy equipment. The noise abatement sound curtains are typically used in the construction of sound barrier walls or acoustic enclosures to assist in the noise reduction from one area to another, or contain noise generated by manufacturing or HVAC equipment. Curtain system models are offered in various styles for optimum solution of application’s requirements. They are a flexible alternative to rigid acoustical panel systems and have a high actual noise reduction up to 25 dBA. They are durable constructions for long service life in severe industrial conditions and are custom engineered  systems with removable roof panels and ventilation systems when required that a allow quick access to machinery and equipment for operation and maintenance. They are fire safe and have low smoke emissions per Sound Seal ASTM E-84,Class 1: Per ASTM E-162, ASTM E-662  and easily installed, relocated or modified. They are made of washable and steam cleanable component
materials.

CUSTOM COMPOSITE QUIETS COMPRESSOR STATION

Tennesee Gas Pipeline  Diagram

The composite, made up of quilted fiberglass and a 1 lb./sq.ft. barrier, does double duty for Tennessee Gas by absorbing airborne sound waves and increasing the transmission loss ability of the building.  Leaks at the seams of the panels are prevented by using a velcro attached noise barrier batten.

Post-installation testing showed the solution performed better than the promised results. The noise level at the property line was reduced from 60dB(A) to 45dB(A).  5dB(A) lower than what was specified.  And while noise levels within the building were not as critical, Tennessee Gas officials were pleased the employees could now hold a conversation without shouting.

We also offer pipe and duct wrap

The ArtUSA Lag Series combines a loaded vinyl noise barrier with a fibrous glass scrim reinforced aluminum foil facing on one side.  IB-10aLAG is commonly used for wrapping noisy iron, steel, and plastic pipe, ducts, valves, and heat exchangers in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor applications.   The entire series has excellent corrosion and outdoor weathering resistance, high strength and excellent conformability.  The reinforced foil facing readily accepts a matching tape for quick and easy installation.

SS-105 - Acoustical Pipe & Duct Lagging

B-10aLAG is available in combination with a nominal one-inch thick (IB-10aLAG/IQFA-3) or two-inch thick (IB-10aLAG/IQFA-9) quilted fiberglass decoupler to form a tight fitting "floating" noise barrier.  The quilt decouples the loaded vinyl barrier from the noise emitting surface achieving greater noise reductions.   The one-step installation of decoupler, barrier, and outer jacket offers substantially lower installation costs. The composite combination is also designed to provide thermal insulation to reduce energy consumption.

Acoustical Baffles & Diffusers  – Built of absorptive or active materials these items can be suspended from ceilings or attached to walls to absorb or reflect noise. They are commonly available for industrial, commercial, and or recording, web/broadcasting applications.

Interior and Theatrical Applications  – Acoustical panels addressing problems in theatres, auditoriums, rehearsal studios, conference rooms, office areas, etc. are available in all forms, shapes and colors. Various panel types may be covered in fabric, plastic, steel, aluminum, or painted. Depending on where and how they are to be used will dictate the best surface material.

While panels absorb sound, diffusers are used to regulate sound to optimum levels with angled surfaces. Reflector panels can be used in ceiling systems to actually carry sounds properly into large performing areas.

Vinyl / Barrier, Foams & Composite Materials  –  Mass-loaded vinyl may be used for blocking sound from leaving or entering an area. Flat foams, as well as pyramidal foams, can be used in rooms or machinery requiring sound absorption. Because most noise problems require a combination of materials, we sell them in various composites. For instance, it is often required to have a layer of sound barrier material, adhered to a sound absorbing material. Instead of simply increasing the mass of a barrier to obtain greater sound barrier properties, a lighter construction can be achieved by separating the barrier from the wall or panel with a de-coupler or spacer, of light material, such as flexible foam. Composite materials may be used in machinery cabinets to reduce noise, around pipes for expansion and contraction noise (pipe duct lagging), etc.

(When choosing a barrier, some properties which should be taken into consideration are: thickness, density, stiffness, resistance to heat and chemicals, flammability, tear strength, abrasion resistance, thermal insulation, flexibility and cost.)

We offer a tremendous variety of composite materials. Some of these products are treated with heat resistant coatings to withstand up to 500 degrees!

Quality ArtUSA Noise Barriers

Industrial Noise Control Industrial noise control is a growing concern in factories, industrial sites, manufacturing and mining facilities. The goal for industrial noise control is to promote hearing conservation while reducing noise levels for personnel to protect employees from hearing loss aBlanket Enclosurend increase industrial safety within the facilities. Companies are required to comply with industrial safety noise levels within OSHA or other governmental or insurance agency requirements. Enclosures and machinery enclosures are a very common treatment for industrial noise control requirements. Acoustical Solutions custom fabricates all of their industrial enclosures to meet the requirements of the environment that it is going into. The acoustical and machinery enclosures are typically made from sound blankets. These are very durable vinyl quilted blankets that can be suspended or floor mounted to form any type of industrial enclosure. Metal machinery enclosures are also available.
